Words Mean Nothing When Actions are Antisemitic

It was this time yesterday, that I and thousands of others tuned in to the ‘Hear Our Voices – Sexual & Gender-Based Violence in the October 7th Hamas Terror Attack’ event, which was presented by the Mission of Israel to the UN along with WZO, Shazur, and the National Council of Jewish Women; among other groups.

The reason to put on this event stemmed from the antisemitic silence displayed not only from U.N. Women, which took all of 57 days to even mention the brutal rapes of Israeli women, but also to address the deafening silence of many women’s groups.

The speakers from Israel ranged from a paramedic, a security officer, and a survivor from the Nova music festival. Each gave damning testimony to the absolute barbarism perpetrated by Hamas and by Gazan civilians during the genocide on Oct. 7th. The speakers mentioned that the crimes committed against Israelis were even worse than what ISIS and even the Nazis had done.

Their testimonies are worth listening to, even, like myself, if we have not shied away from the details of the atrocities as they were revealed in the days and weeks following Oct. 7th.

What was not impressive whatsoever were the speeches of two women in particular: NY Senator Gillibrand and Hillary Clinton.

Though Senator Gillibrand gave a highly emotional speech yesterday, this was the same Senator who voted for the antisemitic Iran Deal. And the same Senator who just last month, in the evening following the Israel Rally in DC, one which saw 300,000 Jews gathered in our nation’s capital to show solidarity with Israel, vetoed a stand alone Israel aid bill. All Democrat Senators vetoed the bill.

The hypocrisy is glaring.

Hillary Clinton, who could not be bothered to attend yesterday’s event, recorded a video where she could not help herself but mention ‘Palestinian’ women – as if ‘Palestinians’ are some sort of ethnic group (it is not), and also had to insert the need for an antisemitic ‘2 state solution’ as if she does not know that Jordan, the second state in the region of Palestine, has been in existence since 1922, created out of 78% of stolen Jewish land.

It was the same issue during the Israel Rally in DC last month. I was glad to be among my people, gathered together to stand with Israel. But 90% of the speeches were given by liberals who voted for the very policies that enabled the Oct. 7th genocide.

Where was the outrage by liberal Jewish groups when Biden, in his first days in office, refunded UNRWA (which funds Hamas), refunded the terrorist group the Palestinian Authority (which also helps fund Hamas and pays terrorists and their families). Biden also released funds to Iran and lifted many sanctions on that terror sponsor country (Iran along with Qatar is a major funder of Iran).

Speeches mean absolutely nothing when the very speakers back antisemitic actions.

Just like liberals were impressed with Sec. Blinken who was tearing up in Israel mentioning his murdered grandfather at the hands of Nazis, yet has been backstabbing Israel since 2021; worse yet, has been strong-arming Israel, a sovereign country. Blinken and his team all but threatened Israel just last week, while telling Israel what it needs to do with its own territory (Gaza is legally still part of Israel; and has deep Jewish history) and with a genocidal Arab settler population within Gaza.

Or with Biden, who gave a great speech in Israel in October, and then resumed backstabbing our strongest ally.

Jews cannot go on being impressed solely by speeches, by nice sounding words, by emotional expressions from Jewish groups and from liberal politicians. The only proven remedy that counters antisemitism are actual pro-Israel policies; voting for those who promote antisemitic policies results in 1200 murdered Jews.

And Hamas (made up of Gazans) is not the only threat; there are dozens of terrorist groups in Gaza, and the majority of Arabs in Judea & Samaria support Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Already, several of the terrorists released in the hostage deal, have been re-arrested by Israel.
